Description

The Nordik Pro Mallard is a single reed duck call, designed for versatile hunting in open areas, delivering effective calling at long, medium, and close distances. The design makes it simple to control, while still allowing you to produce the full range of authentic mallard sounds. This call is made in transparent durable polycarbonate, built to withstand tough hunting conditions. The design also offers multiple attachment options for a lanyard, ensuring it’s always close at hand when you need it.

How to Use

Hold the call at the waist of the sound chamber between your thumb and index finger. Place the barrel against your mouth as if you were drinking from it.
Use your remaining fingers to open and close in front of the call—this hand movement adds realism and life to the sound. Avoid completely closing your hand in front of the call, as this will choke the sound. When opening your hand, “throw” the sound forward for a more natural tone.

The quack sound

Close your fingers in front of the sound chamber and push air from your diaphragm, as if saying “WHUUPP”, while opening your hand.

Sequence:
WHUUPP, WHUUPP, WHUUPP

Greeting Call

Make a series of 2–3 quacks in a fairly rapid cadence. The first three quacks should be longer. Actively open and close your hand with each quack.

Sequence:
“WHUUPP, WHUUPP, WHUUPP”

Comeback Call

Produce a series of 5–6 louder and faster quacks. Use your hand actively, very small opening of your fingers with each note to add urgency.

Feeding Call

Use very rapid, short bursts of air while softly saying “tick, tick, tick”  or” kitt, kitt, kitt “in an irregular, unpredictable rhythm. Once again, use your fingers to open and close in front of the call to enhance realism.
