Nordik Bolt Knob

The Nordik Bolt Knob is a black rubber knob that can be mounted on to the bolt of almost any bolt action rifle. It is a valuable accessory since it enables you to handle the bolt much more precise and foremost much faster than without it. – A must on every bolt action rifle.

The bolt knob is useful at all times, and outstanding in any kind of hunting that demands a quick repetition, such as driven hunts and in the pursuit of dangerous game. Since it is made out of rubber it also reduces the risk of slipping on a slippery metal knob.

To mount it, add a small drop of chemically clean gasoline and simply push it onto the knob of the bolt. To our knowledge it fits on all guns.

Nordik Crow

Nordik Crow

Instructions

To imitate the characteristic croak of the crow, place the mouth piece in your mouth with your teeth behind the notches, take a·deep breath and blow into the call while making a RRRRRR sound deep from your throat.· You are now making the basic croak that will give you many shooting opportunities for hooded- and carrion crows, ravens, rooks,· jackdaws and magpies.

Note: this call is developed to imitate the hooded crowCorvus corone! When you are confident with the basic sound you can benefit from experimenting with how hard you bite on the mouth·piece while blowing into the call.
With a little practice you will soon be able to create many sounds of different character; everything from a very annoyed crow, to a crow attacking a bird of prey chasing it away from the territory, or the contact sound of a crow.

Nordik Crying Bird

Nordik Crying Bird

Instructions

Is specially developed to imitate bird distress sounds. These sounds are very effective to call foxes and other predators with. To imitate a woodpecker in distress, blow short and intense thrusts of air or hard trrr, trrr, trrr into the call. To make distress sounds of small birds, blow carefully and let the air go both out and in through the call. If you blow a short steady flow of air through the call you will get a very realisticl rabbit distress sound.Call 15-30 seconds and sit quiet for 1-2 minutes and repeat for 15-25 minutes / stand.

This is a video clip with a distressed woodpecker caught in a bird ringing net. This can be used as guidance when practicing with the call.

Nordik Crying Lamb

The Nordik Crying Lamb is a game call that is easy
to use, specially designed to imitate the sound of an
injured or stressed lamb in a realistic way. This sound
is very effective for calling predators that have specialized
on killing sheep and goats.
Instructions
Grasp the call with your right hand; cup your left hand
over the sound chamber so that it closes tightly. Take
a deep breath and just as you are about t start blowing,
let go of the sound chamber with your left hand
and blow into the call. You need to create a small and
short overpressure in the call to make the B in the
Baaaaaa sound.
When you have practiced this for a while, you can try
to make a vibrato during your exhalation for a more
faithful sound. The volume is adjusted by how hard
you blow into the call as well as with your left hand in
front of the sound chamber. Practice and listen how
hard it is possible for you to blow before the sound
breaks, and adjust thereafter!
Planning a stand
Open fields:
Call intensively for 15-20 seconds, be quiet for two to
three minutes and keep on calling in this way for 20-
30 minutes each stand.
Smaller fields or forested areas:
Call intensively for 15-20 seconds, be quiet for five to
six minutes and keep on calling in this way for 15-20
minutes each stand.

Nordik Fox Heat

Nordik Fox Heat

The Nordik Fox Heat is specially developed for calling fox that are out searching for a partner during the mating period. It is also effective during other seasons for fox that defend their territory. Some fox answer to the call, others come silently.

Instructions

We use 2 different whistling sounds.

Nr. 1
Cover the hole on the sound chamber with your index finger and blow “trrr” softly into the call three times (trrr, trrr, trrr), pause for 10 seconds (trrr, trrr, trrr), pause for 10 seconds (trrr, trrr, trrr).
Repeat this series of sounds every 5-10 minutes for a 30-40 minute stand.

Nr. 2
Cover the hole on the sound chamber with your index finger and blow 4 short, soft thrusts of air in close succession, finish with a long thrust of air for 3 seconds where you remove your finger from the hole as you start blowing and let the sound fade out towards the end (ju-ju-ju-ju-jullllliiiiii). Paus for 10 seconds and repeat.
Repeat this series of sounds every 5-10 minutes for a 30-40 minute stand.

Video of how to use:

Nordik Grunter

The Nordik Grunter is developed specially for calling
whitetail deer. The sound may be adjusted by pulling the
tube apart or pushing it together.
Compressed tube = light tone (younger buck). A lighter
tone also attracts smaller bucks.
Protracted tube = dark tone (older buck), may attract
larger bucks better, but it may also scare away smaller
bucks, it depends on what your objective is!
Be aware of that curious deer often go downwind of the
sound to check out what they are hearing, so make sure
you pay attention to your wind.
Instructions
The Contact Grunt is a contact sound that works all
year round. It basically means – “I am a buck, and here I
am”! You use the contact grunt to catch the buck’s attention
so that it out of curiosity will approach you. Put the
call to your mouth and blow a short, soft thrust of air for
about ½-1 second. Repeat this for 3-4 times with 10-20
minutes in between. Adjust the tube according to your
preference.
The Tending Grunt is the sound that a buck makes
when he is ready to mate. You use this sound to make
the buck you wish to call jealous of you, making him believe
that you have attracted a doe in his territory, and he
will therefore approach you. Protract the tube halfway
or according to your preference and blow carefully for
2-3 seconds. Repeat 2-3 times, await response, repeat
if necessary! If nothing happens, protract the tube completely
and blow very carefully for 4-6 seconds. Repeat
2-3 times to trigger the older bucks a bit more. If needed
you can complement these sounds with:
Rattling = the sound of antlers rattling against each other
Doe bleats = the contact and mating sounds from a doe
Fawn bleats = the contact sound from a fawn

Nordik Hind

Nordik Hind

Instructions

Nordik Hind is a novel and unique game call.
It is especially developed to imitate the distress call of a red deer calf.
This sound agitates the hind herd, attracting them to come close,
often barking. This type of calling is most successful in areas with dense
red deer populations.

Expand the lower part of the call and place the mouthpiece between your lips
and exhale. Blow short and longer thrusts of air for 15-20 seconds, rest for two
to three minutes and continue to call like this for 15-20 minutes each stand.
For best result, open and close your hands in front of the call for a more authentic sound. Make sure you do not blow any saliva into the mouthpiece.
When calling in this way, you may also attract predators such as wolves and lynx in these areas where reed deer are common. This call can also be used for calling sika deer during the rut. For this purpose, start to blow softly into the call, growl, and then soft again, carefully change to blow hard to reach
a high pitched whistling noise, then carefully change intensity again to blow short and soft and growl softly. Call three times like this, wait and adjust your next calling sequence to the response of the deer. Note, sometimes the deer approaches without response.

Nordik Mini Predator

NORDIK MINI PREDATOR

Instructions

Is specially developed to meet the demands of calling predators under Nordic conditions. The call is simple to use and its mouth piece is freeze proof. The call can produce a wide variety of sounds. This call has a smaller sound board and thinner membrane than its big brother Nordik Predator.

Rodent squeaks

To imitate mouse and vole squeaks, place the o-ring, your teeth or lips at the outermost part of the membrane and blow with short thrusts in the call.

Distress calls from rabbit and hare

These calls are easy to make by placing the o-ring, your teeth or lips in the middle of the mouth piece and blow into the call. The further back on the membrane the coarser the sound. Vary long and short sounds for 15-25 seconds and repeat every 3-4 minutes. Open and close your hand in front of the call’s opening as you blow for a more life like sound.

Nordik Moose

NORDIK MOOSE

Instructions

The Nordik Moose is a sound amplifier designed as a horn,
specially developed for calling moose from long distances.
Except for amplifying your calls, it is robust and can be used
to rake and beat on trees to imitate the sound of shedding antlers.
It is off course possible to use the Nordik Moose as an amplifier
even when calling on other game, such as red deer.

Nordik Plain Pain

The Nordik Plain Pain is a mouth call that is easy to blow, without using your hands. That means that your hands are available to handle your gun in challenging hunting situations.

The unique membrane design in this game call gives the sounds an extra dimension of pain and agony. By biting on the different sound boards and blowing through both sides of the call, the Nordik Plain Pain can produce virtually all general sounds of anxiety needed for efficiently calling predators.

The membrane is broader on one side and thinner on the other; this means that you will obtain different tones depending on what side you blow from.

The side of the membrane facing the exhaust side will also start to oscillate, adding a deeper dimension of anguish.

When you blow through the broader side of the membrane the sound you create is deeper where as when you blow through the thinner side, you create a lighter painful tone.

The call has three positions from each side. If you bite on the middle, from either direction, you will obtain a general sound of agony. With every step you move towards the edge, you can adjust the tone towards your desired sound. The volume is adjusted by how hard you blow into the call.

Suggested calling intervals:

Use both long and short sounds when calling for 15-25 seconds and repeat with 3-4 minute intervals.

In very open terrain we recommend using shorter intervals.

Remember – practice makes perfect!
