The Nordik Grunter is developed specially for calling
\nwhitetail deer. The sound may be adjusted by pulling the
\ntube apart or pushing it together.
\nCompressed tube = light tone (younger buck). A lighter
\ntone also attracts smaller bucks.
\nProtracted tube = dark tone (older buck), may attract
\nlarger bucks better, but it may also scare away smaller
\nbucks, it depends on what your objective is!
\nBe aware of that curious deer often go downwind of the
\nsound to check out what they are hearing, so make sure
\nyou pay attention to your wind.
\nInstructions
\nThe Contact Grunt is a contact sound that works all
\nyear round. It basically means \u2013 \u201cI am a buck, and here I
\nam\u201d! You use the contact grunt to catch the buck\u2019s attention
\nso that it out of curiosity will approach you. Put the
\ncall to your mouth and blow a short, soft thrust of air for
\nabout \u00bd-1 second. Repeat this for 3-4 times with 10-20
\nminutes in between. Adjust the tube according to your
\npreference.
\nThe Tending Grunt is the sound that a buck makes
\nwhen he is ready to mate. You use this sound to make
\nthe buck you wish to call jealous of you, making him believe
\nthat you have attracted a doe in his territory, and he
\nwill therefore approach you. Protract the tube halfway
\nor according to your preference and blow carefully for
\n2-3 seconds. Repeat 2-3 times, await response, repeat
\nif necessary! If nothing happens, protract the tube completely
\nand blow very carefully for 4-6 seconds. Repeat
\n2-3 times to trigger the older bucks a bit more. If needed
\nyou can complement these sounds with:
\nRattling = the sound of antlers rattling against each other
\nDoe bleats = the contact and mating sounds from a doe
